  • How do I make an appointment and what can I expect during my first visit?

You can contact Berndt and Associates in PsychCare by completing the Contact Us Form on our website or by calling us directly at (208) 268-8858. After scheduling an appointment, you will be asked to complete a series of forms to help gather basic information and history in advance of your first visit. Sessions are typically 45 to 50 minutes in length with the first session focused upon gathering history and setting initial goals and plans to move forward.

  • Do you accept insurance and how does insurance work for therapy?

Berndt and Associates in PsychCare, LLC assists clients in accessing their mental health benefits and participates in several insurance plan networks. Prior to scheduling an appointment, it is best to check with your insurance carrier to determine if you have mental health coverage benefits, the amount of coverage available; requirements for pre-authorization; and what your financial responsibility is in the process. Clients are responsible for pre-authorization for all services rendered.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, and credit/debit cards are all welcome.

  • Are my therapy sessions confidential?

Under the law, confidentiality of all communications between a client and a psychotherapist is protected from disclosure unless prior written consent is obtained from the client for a specific type of disclosure. There are two key exceptions to this limitation however which involve suspected child or elder abuse; and threatening serious bodily harm to self or others. A more detailed discussion of these limitations will be reviewed during the first therapy session with your provider.

  • Do you prescribe medication if it is needed?

Psychologists and Social Workers are not authorized to prescribe medications to our clients. At Berndt and Associates in PsychCare, LLC we work in collaboration with Psychiatrists and other prescribers in the community to address any medication needs of our clients and to ensure continuity of care and the safe, effective use of medications to help target specific symptom relief.
